Why does it always have to be about God?

I consider myself independent in my political beliefs, voted for Kerry in the last election because I wanted president Bush out of office. When I was a kid I remembered Ronald Regan becoming president, watched it in my Wednesday night religion class that I was told to go to. Did I care, not really, I was to young to care. As for God, I believed and still do in a higher power, but I never made it through and consider myself spiritual but not very religious. That is my beliefs and I do not think anyone is wrong in their beliefs as long as it is not harming others. The things that I remember most from those religion classes that I attended, was that God loves you and that you should be treating others kindly and not harm them.
How many different religions are there in this world? Hell if I know, but it is a lot. They all have different beliefs in God. What makes your God different then hers or his God? I may be wrong, but I would have to say that in most of them, their God loves them too. Not all of them tell you to treat others kindly, but most do.
Another thing that I remember being taught at an early age, is that there is supposed to be a separation between Church and State. This is terribly good and especially important in this melting pot of a country where there is a large number of different views and beliefs about religion.
With the elections coming up, yeah in what over a year and a half, I wanted to check out whats going on when I heard that Rudi Giuliani was going to run for president. An article I just read is what prompted me to write this, it started out with this.

(02-11) 04:00 PST Sacramento -- Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, arguing that America is in desperate need of a Ronald Reagan-style optimistic vision, told California Republicans on Saturday that he wants to be a president who will "win the world for a set of ideas ... that I believe come from God."

Which God? Your God? His God? Do they have the same beliefs? Probably not the same as mine because mine does not believe in killing others. Why does it always have to be about God? Oh my God.....

DAANOOOO!!! HAhah hey man I just read that mass email ya sent out a week ago :( Hehe And congrats on
the website :D

As for your blog...

Eh politics are fun no? Hahaha actually I hate them but the more I learn about whats going on the more i want to know more... Kinda funny how that works out.
As for why it always has to be about God? Especially lately in politics I would have to say that the republican party for the most part will have a religious view... Not cause they actually DO, but because they can get more votes that way... Bush says he is a Christian... And is religious... But if you look at what he has done in the last 8 years... Well he kinda contradicts himself about that belief(IE destroying what Christians and most americans in general believe and stand for)

So I would be wary of the men running for office who say they are religious...

And as for the whole "Which God?" or "Why is it important which God you believe in?"

Um without writing a short book haha, I would have to say...

Do you believe in absolute truth???
One right one wrong. Not "I believe its wrong but if you wanna think its right then its right for you"
Many people believe that is a good way of thinking(or the NOT believing in absolute truth)

Only cause we don't like being the "bad guy" or offending anyone. BUT
absolute truth exists and is true(if ya don't believe me we can talk sometime haha)
And since it does, then we must ask...

Which God is the true God? For having more gods then just one would be chaos. Cause it would create more then one right or wrong... And then again there would be chaos...

I can't just tell you "THIS IS THE ONE GOD!!!" And convince you that way...
Cause that is something which is more of a personal choice...
Is there a "One true God"? Eh well that just comes back to absolute truth... Which of course says yes...

And then we get to "well he doesn't believe in the god I do, cause mine doesn't believe in killing other people"

Which is a tough one in a sense... "How can a man who follows a supposed 'God of Love' go and kill thousands of people?"
Which you then must ask. "Does he really follow that God?" "or is that claim just to get more votes?"

I honestly believe that Bush used that claim to get more votes... For reasons that I don't feel like risking carpal tunnel on typing out ;)

...
Ya know Dan I think we will have to just talk about this another time haha. If it is still something you are interested in talking about...(politics, truth, justice, that kinda jazz)

Cause I am on the Island right now and the sun popped out and created blue skies... And I keep getting distracted by the beauty out there and don't know if I could finish the rest of this and keep it rational... It would just get jumbled together in my inattention to my writing lol.

So yeah man take care and wish em luck ;) I think I will head over to rock island at noon and spend a 12:30-4 over there :D Hiked over there last weekend and got some fun shots :D Check out my deviant art site for a few of the better ones

The latest 4 are the rock island hike...
And I submitted those and some others to the pulse :D So hopefully they pick some for the paper :D
